Take 5 minutes to help the industry

We need distributors and contractors to send letters opposing a proposal that would increase product costs and eliminate certified technicians from the field.

A proposed change to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ safety standard would bring all air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigeration, and domestic water heaters under their standard instead of our current UL standards. Under the ASME standard, all products would need to use thicker materials, which increases costs, and the standard forces technicians to be ASME certified, preventing you from selling them any equipment until they meet the qualifications; this will eliminate your customers.

ASME needs to hear from the public on how this will impact the industry. Please send a letter using this link to let them know the proposal is a bad idea; it can be done in under 5 minutes if you use the pre-written text or feel free to add your own thoughts: https://link.edgepilot.com/s/aa6602c6/S4X8dzS7b0Ct-50LKqOebw?u=https://hardinet.org/hardi-advocacy-american-society-of-mechanical-engineers-boiler-pressure-vessel-code
